Why? is a short film inspired by my struggles in life. Through the form of self-expression, it tells the story of a youth riding through life.
The reason as to why I chose a film medium pertains to my adoration for films. The freedom of creative expression whereby I get to experiment with cinematography has always been at the back of my head. This project has given me a chance to portray what means to me the most in life, in a film. Hence, the short film is inspired by my experiences – my family, relationships, and work. To start, I began my research on filmmaking.
This short film wishes to raise mental health awareness due to the declining mental health youths face. Why? hopes to remind them that they are not alone, and there are like-minded individuals like them. In light of mental health wellness, this short film will be part of a mental health campaign, to shed a light on those in darkness.
